Contact school personnel to set up an in person interview at the Family YMCA of the Desert or at a previously agreed upon location.  Contact information is listed at the bottom of this page.

Review the program overview during the interview and determine whether it is truly in line with your goals for your child. If the staff, and you, agree that the school is a good fit, then sign associated documentation regarding liabilities and agreements associated with the school to enroll your child.

Actual enrollment will take effect on students’ first day of attendance at Doves Landing School.

Please note that all new parents are required to attend a mandatory orientation meeting. If the initiated orientation meeting is not possible for a family to attend, Doves Landing School staff will schedule a mutually agreeable time and location for the orientation meeting.

Doves Landing School will feel very different from most school settings; it usually takes 6 to 9 weeks to feel comfortable with our award-winning Abraham Lincoln style field study program. Please feel free to ask questions about the program as you have them arise, especially during this transition time period.  

Bear in mind that this school is donation based. This means that though we have expenses in the same way any school would, we do not have funding from any source outside of donations and grants.  An advantage of this is autonomy, another is the ability to serve students from a background such that they would otherwise be unable to attend. 

Another benefit to parents, family or any donors, is that Doves Landing School donations are tax deductible. Please be willing to consider reaching out to any contacts you know who would be able and willing to make a tax deductible donation in any amount.
